FAQ,s

What should I bring to my appointment?

If you have been in a motor vehicle accident please bring all relevant information from your insurance company (claim number, policy number, insurance contact name and number)

Any imaging reports (i.e. X-ray, CT scan, MRI, or other) and post-operative protocols if you’ve been given them following surgery would be helpful.

How should I dress?

If your injury is to the lower extremity please bring shorts. If your injury is the upper body and you are female, please bring a sports bra or tank top so that we can appropriately assess your injury.

How long will I be in the clinic for each session?

This depends on the injury and type of treatment you require, but expect to be in the clinic for approximately 30 – 45 minutes.

How many treatments will I need?

Each person and condition is different. After your initial assessment we will have a better estimate of treatment duration.

Does Alberta Health cover the cost of any of treatments?

At this time Alberta Health Services will still cover the cost of up to 3 visits. Several clinics throughout Edmonton have this contract. Trackside DOES NOT have that contract. Therefore you will need to use your extended health insurance or pay privately for each session.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to attend physiotherapy?

Typically no, but to be sure ask your insurance provider before your appointment.

Does my extended health plan cover my physiotherapy and massage therapy treatment?

Most health plans cover some physiotherapy. Check with your provider for specific details.

Do you bill physiotherapy treatment directly to my insurance company?

We are able to direct bill several insurance companies: Blue Cross, CINUP, Chamber of Commerce, Cowan, Desjardins, First Canadian, Great West Life, Industrial Alliance, Financial, Johnson Inc, Manulife, Maximum Benefit, and Sun Life Insurance. You are responsible for the patient co-pay amount at the time of treatment.
